6.4/10

My stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Melbourne was a mixed bag. While the staff were friendly and accommodating, I found the room to be on the smaller side with not enough amenities for my taste. The area around the hotel felt scruffy with ongoing roadworks, which was disappointing, but the location was extremely central, making it easy to explore Melbourne.

Rooms
6.0
The room was small with a somewhat basic layout. I was surprised to find it cramped, lacking space for even a bedside table as the bed was placed too close to the bathroom. Additionally, the view was quite disappointing, overlooking pipes and AC units of neighboring buildings, leaving much to be desired.
Service
8.0
I appreciated the attentive service from the staff, particularly the Assistant Front Desk Manager who was professional and responsive to my concerns. This made the check-in smoother, and he even arranged for us to have a shower and coffee while we waited for our room.
Location
7.0
The location is excellent, situated right across from Flinders Street Station and within walking distance to many attractions. However, the immediate surroundings were less appealing due to ongoing roadworks and a higher visibility of rough sleepers at night.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast area was disappointing, located near the main entrance with open double doors welcoming cold air and noise from outside. While the food itself was decent, the setting did detract from the overall dining experience.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like room service and laundry were standard, but I felt the overall cleanliness could be improved, especially in shared areas like toilets. This detracted from my overall impression of the hotel's upkeep.

I had a nice stay at Doubletree By Hilton Melbourne, marked by a perfect location and friendly staff. The room, though small, was clean and equipped with a comfortable bed. However, I did experience some hiccups with the air conditioning and check-in process that dampened my experience a bit. Overall, it's a great option for a city getaway.

Rooms

The room was stylish and clean, albeit small, but the comfortable bed and lovely decor made up for it. I really appreciated the tranquility, as I couldn't hear much from the busy outside world.

6.8/10

I had a mixed experience at Doubletree By Hilton Melbourne. The location was fantastic, right across from Flinders Street Station, making it super convenient for getting around the city. However, my stay was marred by the customer service; there were instances of unhelpfulness from the staff that left me feeling quite disappointed. Overall, while there were good aspects like the great location and nice facilities, the service issues were significant enough to affect my enjoyment.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean and comfortable, but I had a poor view of a brick wall. The lack of proper daylight made it feel quite claustrophobic.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be lacking at times. A few staff members weren't as welcoming or helpful as I expected, especially regarding my inquiries about room upgrades.
Location
10.0
The location is perfect for exploring Melbourne—right across from Flinders Street Station and within walking distance of attractions like Southbank and Fed Square.
Dining
6.0
While the breakfast had a decent variety, I was disappointed in the quality. There were too many processed items, and the warm food could definitely use some improvement.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were good overall. I appreciated the housekeeping and the complimentary water and chocolates each day.

7.4/10

I had a pleasant stay at Doubletree by Hilton Melbourne for three nights. The hotel's location was fantastic, right across from Flinders Street Station and close to the city center, making it easy to explore Melbourne. On the downside, my room was somewhat small and lacked a window, which was disappointing. Overall, the friendly staff and prime location made my experience enjoyable, but a bit more space would have been great.

Rooms
6.0
While my room was clean and comfortable, it was quite small and lacked a window, which I found disappointing for the price.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist me with any questions I had and allowing me to store my luggage before check-in.
Location
9.0
The location is excellent, right in the heart of Melbourne, making it easy to walk to major attractions and restaurants.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were decent, with a variety of choices available, but I was hoping for some healthier options at breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered several facilities like room service and assistance with tours, but I did miss having free Wi-Fi during my stay.

6.6/10

Overall, my stay at Doubletree By Hilton Melbourne was a mixed bag. The location is fantastic for exploring the city, but the room sizes left a lot to be desired. The staff were super friendly, and I loved those warm chocolate cookies they greet you with, but the breakfast options were pretty disappointing and the noise from the construction nearby was bothersome.

Rooms
6.0
I found the room to be extremely small, with a windowless design that made it feel even more cramped. The bed was comfy, though, and the bathroom was functional, but the noise from the alley was quite distracting. Not ideal for more than a night or two.
Service
7.0
The service was pretty good overall. The staff were friendly and eager to help, but my check-in experience could've been smoother. I appreciated their friendliness when I had to change rooms, but the lack of upgrades left me feeling a bit underwhelmed as an elite member.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s location is its biggest highlight, right in the heart of Melbourne and close to public transport. It's easy to access a variety of dining options nearby too, which I loved. Perfect for anyone wanting to explore the city.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was not great—basically self-serve coffee and a lack of fresh options. The only standout was the juicer. I'd definitely suggest looking for breakfast spots outside the hotel, as there's a ton of better choices nearby.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities are pretty basic; they have the essentials like Wi-Fi and room service, but nothing felt extraordinary or luxurious aside from the 24/7 cookie availability. A bit more variety in offerings would’ve been nice.
